History

It was in 1975 that Jean-Maurice Fournier and his wife inaugurated IMPRIMERIE STE-JULIE. Today, the Fournier girls – Caroline and Marilène – are taking over the family-run business. With his numerous years of experience in the label-printing business, Mr. Fournier was determined to offer his customers products and services of superior quality at competitive prices. The couple’s hard work paid off and, in 1978, they realized the time had come to move into larger facilities and buy a new press.

Their clientele grew so quickly that they had to purchase new equipment again in 1980, 1981 and 1983. Information systems were then introduced to improve company production and management. In 1985, the company had 42 employees, owned 8 presses and its sales volume reached $4 million thanks to its faithful, enthusiastic clientele. Then followed another move in 1986: the construction of a Research and Development Centre in 1990, and the addition of a Computer Graphics Department as well as the purchase of a first digital press in 1998.

2002 saw the construction of a new digital press plan, the largest in the world, and the purchase of the very first Indigo WS 4000 press, followed by a second press in 2004. In 2007, a high performance laser die-cutting machine and a complete range of digital plates were acquired and the team now totalled 83 employees, dispersed throughout the 35,000-square-foot workshop. In 2010, Imprimerie Sainte-Julie added new high-end equipment, the Galaxy, in order to provide an added-value to the labels they create. This press allows for inline converting of characteristics as diverse as stamping, embossing and silkscreen printing. In 2011, Imprimerie Ste-Julie inaugurated their latest piece of equipment, a machine that creates efficient labeling which no longer merely prints information on one side only but rather on a multi-paneled booklet. Finally, Imprimerie Sainte-Julie has called upon an experienced graphic designer to help you create and alter your products.

As such, our digital and pre-printing departments, in addition to the flexography, conventional diecut, laser and post-press departments are now completely autonomous. IMPSJ brings everything together under one roof to suit your needs.
